CSU Sport Opportunities

College sports are an integral part of American campus culture.

The Office of International Programs, Athletics Department and Alumni Association are proud to present our Campus Sports/Campus Culture series. Each semester, we team up to introduce students to a unique American sport or to enjoy an international game, while explaining the importance and tradition behind the campus sporting culture.


In the fall semester, we have 3 great opportunities:

Football 101

This event will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

The game will be held at the Canvas Stadium.

Opponent: Illinois State
Cost: Free for students! $20 for CSU scholars, spouses, children, or guests.

Draft Schedule:

  • 10:00 a.m. –  Check in begins (Newsom Hall Event Center)
  • 10:30 a.m. –  Program begins–Ram Walk and Football 101 presentation
  • 12:00 p.m. – Group heads to stadium
  • 1:00 p.m.   –  Game kickoff
  • 4:00 p.m. (Approximately) – Game ends

This fall, Football 101 will celebrate its 10th year of bringing international students into the heart of campus life and American culture through an inside look at American football. Join the Colorado State University Alumni Association, Athletics Department, and Office of International Programs to experience a CSU football game! Learn about the sport of American football, CSU football traditions, experience Ag Day, and join fellow Ram fans to cheer Ram football onto victory!

International Night at CSU – Soccer

This event will take place on Friday, October 11, 2019.

The game will be held at the CSU Soccer Field

International Night at CSU – Volleyball

This event will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

The game will be held at the CSU Moby Arena.

CSU Athletics, the Alumni Association, and the Office of International Programs invite all International Rams to cheer on the CSU Women’s Volleyball team (ranked #25 nationwide!) on Thursday, November 14 against University of Nevada, Las Vegas! This is a great way to watch one of CSU’s best teams, enjoy the sports culture here at CSU, hear from the assistant coach, and meet some of the players. If you need to learn about volleyball, we’ll also have information so you can better understand the game!

This event is free to all full-time (fee-paying) international students, and half off to part-time students, scholars, or families/guests.

5:45 pm: Check-in begins at Moby Arena
6:00 pm: Program begins. Assistant Coach Emily Kohan speaks to group, spirit squad visit.
7:00: Game starts
~8:45: Game ends. Meet players, get autographs, take photos with players.

Students sign up for this fun-filled afternoon here.

Scholars, or families of students or scholars, can get discounted $4 tickets (normally $8) here.
