MBA Global, Social and Sustainable Enterprise (GSSE)

Why did you decide to study at CSU?

CSU has so much to offer! Colorado State University is one of a few schools with a very concentrated program like the GSSE. Besides offering wonderful programs, it is located in one of the most beautiful states in America. Before I came to the States, I had seen tons of incredible pictures of Colorado so when I first found out about the GSSE program, I knew CSU was the place I wanted to be. Another reason why I decided to study here is because its concern toward sustainability. I remember seeing videos about how sustainable CSU is and it was just mind-blowing!

Could you tell us more about the GSSE Program?

First, GSSE stands for the Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise (I know, it is a mouthful). The GSSE helps shape you into becoming a social entrepreneur, not just a regular entrepreneur. This program believes in triple bottom line approach –(alright, let’s just keep it simple) you can solve global issues and be the world’s hero while still making money! I was interested in applying for this program because I come from a place where the need for sustainable development is emerging and the GSSE has everything I was looking for to help solve that issue from a business perspective.

What types of activities/clubs are you involved in at CSU and in Fort Collins?

I am part of Indonesian students’ association which is known as Permias CSU. Recently, I was involved in the Global Ambassador Program where I went to one of the elementary schools here in Fort Collins and gave a presentation about my home country. I love how open people are in Fort Collins, including little kids, to different cultures from around the world.

What are your career goals?

I have always been involved in environmental projects and have always been interested in working on sustainability area. Being in the GSSE program really widens my eyes about the world and opportunities so I am hoping to continue working on the same topic.

What do you want people to know about your home country?

Indonesia is in the Asia continent (and it is not India). It is a very diverse country with thousands of islands and hundreds of local languages. Its unique biodiversity, culture and natural wonders attract millions of tourists from all over the place every year. It might not be the #1 tourist destination but once you go there, you will always want to go back!
