Why did you decide to study at CSU?
I decided to study at CSU because I had previous experience here in a leadership program in July 2011. I had a life changing experience through this university and this is why I preferred to be here for my master’s degree.
What academic accomplishment are you most proud of?
It’s my first semester here, but back home I always had good grades and I am always doing my best here or there because I love what I study.
What are your career goals?
I wish I get a chance to work in any institution that cares for doing research about improving biofuel production because that is one of the things that will make our global environment improve.
What kinds of things are you involved in on campus?
I just have been accepted to volunteer as a Cultural Mentor for fall 2015 and I always like to join any social activities that ISSS make, like the FAC.
What do you want people to know about your home country?
I want them to know that Iraq is a diverse country. It has many different ethnicities and religions. It’s not a place that has only Arab or Muslim people. My religion is Christianity and I am an Assyrian, I speak neo-Aramaic as a mother language. I also want people to know that people there can go out and have fun with friends and family although its not safe all the time, but people have hope that things will get better one day.
