International Women’s Club
A unique community of women.
The International Women’s Club is a sponsored group by Fort Collins International Center. The group has a membership of over 30 women. The members usually meet in Aggie Village Center, once per week on Friday mornings, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The club is free and open to women only, whether CSU students, scholars, or spouses, both international and American. The main purpose of the group is to help international women adjust to living in the USA, Fort Collins, and CSU. We strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for women from various cultures, countries, or religions. We also try fostering friendships across cultures and also developing respect for and understanding of world diversity.
We usually meet to enjoy a cup of hot tea and snacks and to have wonderful conversations with the members of the club. We also organize various social and educational programs according to the interests and needs of the members. For example, we had cooking classes, arts and crafts classes, we visited local festivals and theaters, we went to see movies together, we went out to have breakfast together, we celebrated birthdays and baby showers, we had goodbye parties, we learned about American holidays and customs from other countries, we had presentations on topics such as stress management, meditation, health during pregnancy, and culture shock. We also help each other by offering support and advice.
No meetings will be held during the winter break.
