How to apply

The undergraduate application opens on August 1. All application files completed by December 1 are considered part of the Early Action pool to receive full admission consideration and automatic scholarship review by December 31.

Application files completed by February 1 receive full admission consideration and automatic scholarship review by February 28. Learn more about application requirements for international undergraduate students below

We use a holistic review process when considering students for undergraduate program admissions. This is a combination of your grades, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, extracurricular activities, and any other information you share in your application materials.

The SAT is optional for admission to the university, but certain programs will consider it if you are seeking direct admission into competitive majors. For the most up-to-date information, visit the Admissions website for what we look for.

Colorado State University offers a number of financial aid options for international students, including select scholarships for new, first-year international students. Once accepted, International students who meet specific criteria will be automatically considered for a scholarship up to $12,000, based on prior school work and additional factors. UNDERGRADUATE DIRECT AND CONDITIONAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Strong English language skills are important to academic success at CSU. To support student success, we require all students whose first language is not English to demonstrate a high level of English proficiency regardless of their citizenship. Applicants from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom whose first language is English are exempt from this requirement.

TOEFL, PTE Academic or IELTS Academic results are the preferred indicators of English proficiency. For applicants seeking direct admission, the requirements are as follows:
